East Sikkim Tour Overview

East Sikkim tour package is a customized tour that covers all the must visit places of East Sikkim. It is a 5 day 4 night package, which includes accommodation, transportation, meals and sightseeing activities.

Begin your East Sikkim tour plan as you arrive at Bagdogra airport/NJP railway station, and get transferred to Gangtok. Enjoy a two day stay at Hotel in Gangtok.

Day 1 explore the nearby places and local market as you reach.

Day 2 go for a sightseeing tour of all the famous places near Gangtok. You will be taken to visit the famous Tsomgo lake and the Baba mandir. If you want to visit Nathula pass, it is also available on extra charges.

Day 3 of your East Sikkim tour, travel to darjeeling and enjoy this day at your leisure and explore the MG road. Enjoy a two day stay in Darjeeling as you visit all the famous tourist attractions of Darjeeling.

Day 4 you will visit The Tiger hill, Batasia loop, Ghoom monastery, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Tenzing Rock and Gombu Rock, Tea Estate and the Japanese temple.

Day 5 On the last day, check out from the Darjeeling hotel and get dropped off at Bagdogra airport/NJP railway station for the return journey.

East Sikkim Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival at Bagdogra / NJP to Gangtok and Transfer to Gangtok

• Embark upon your East Sikkim tour by arriving at Bagdogra/NJP railway station, where you will be greeted by our representative and will be escorted to Gangtok. It is a 3-4 hour drive to Gangtok, on your way you will witness the beauty of Sikkim. Its lush green valleys, filled with the fragrance of Rhododendron, orchids and pine and pleasant weather.
• As you reach Gangtok, check in at the hotel and enjoy the day at your leisure.
• In the evening, head out to explore the nearby places or take a stroll by the M G Road.
• Head back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 - Gangtok Excursion

• Wake up with a delicious breakfast, and set out to visit the most famous places of your East Sikkim tour plan.
• First stop on our list is the Tsomgo/Changu Lake, this glacier lake is very famous for serenic beauty and religious importance. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains this lake remains frozen in winters. You can enjoy bird-watching here.
• Our next stop is the Baba Mandir, situated 17 kms far from Tsomgo Lake, this shrine is a memorial for Captain Harbhajan Singh, also referred as “Hero of Nathula”. During the 1965- Sino Indian War, he martyred fighting at Nathula Pass.
• If you want to visit the Nathu la pass, it is optional and will charge extra.
• By evening, reach back to Gangtok and have an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 - Gangtok to Darjeeling (97 Kms | 3.5 Hours)

• After breakfast, check out from the hotel and start travelling to Darjeeling for the third day of your East Sikkim tour. It will take you around 3-4 hours to reach Darjeeling.
• Enroute, you will witness the mesmerizing view of the valley nestled with lush greenery.
• After reaching Darjeeling, check-in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
• You can head out to visit the nearby places or take a small hike to the nearest viewpoints.
• Return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4 - Darjeeling Local Sightseeing

• Wake up early in the morning and start trekking to the top of the tiger hill, where you will witness a golden sunrise casting shimmering shadows on the Kanchenjunga Peak.
• As you trek down, you will get a chance to see the Batasia loop and the ghoom monastery.
• After trekking, enjoy a filling breakfast and get ready for local sightseeing.
• A visit to the Zoological park, where you will see various species of flora and animals.
• A visit to Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and the Tenzing and Gomba rock, named after Tenzing Norgay, here you can try rock climbing.
• A visit to Tibean Refugee Self Centre and the Japanese Temple also known as Darjeeling peace pagoda, this temple was constructed under the guidance of Monk Nichidatsu Fiji. This temple houses four avatars of Buddha including Maitreya Buddha.
• A visit to the Tea estate, where you will witness the vast stretched fields of Tea.
• Head back to the hotel as the fourth day of your East Sikkim tour plan concludes here.

Day 5 - Departure

• After breakfast, check out from the hotel and get dropped off at Bagdogra airport/NJP railway station with happy memories of your East Sikkim tour package.
