About the Dooars

Also known as the Duars this is the ‘doorway’ to the Indo-Bhutan border area. The word ‘Duar’ literally means ‘door’ in local languages here, mainly Assamese, Bengali, and Nepali. The Dooars area with its mesmerizing natural beauty and wildlife is located in the eastern Himalayas foothills in the northern part of West Bengal. These are the rich Terai floodplains of the Sankosh river that flows mid-way between Eastern Dooars in Assam and the Western Dooars in Bengal.

Day 1 - Arrival at Bagdogra airport/ NJP railway station

• Commence your Dooars tour package from Kolkata and reach Bagdogra airport/ NJP railway station, from where you will be greeted by our representative and will be transferred to Lataguri.
• On your way you will cross through Sevoke Kalimandir, this temple is situated on the banks of Teesta river and coronation bridge. This temple is dedicated to the goddess Kali, an incarnation of Goddess Parvati.
• Make a stop for lunch at any highway restaurant and proceed towards Lataguri.
• Check-in and have an overnight stay at the hotel in Lataguri.

Day 2 - Lataguri Sightseeing Tour

• After having breakfast in the morning, set out to explore the local attractions of Lataguri.

Day 3 - Trip to Khayerbari

• Enjoy a wholesome breakfast and head out on an exciting trip to Khayerbari. This place is an animal rescue center situated near Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary. This forest is a home to many tigers and leopards that have been rescued over the years from circuses and animal shows.The animals here are kept in a semi-natural habitat and you can spot them once they are out in the open.

Day 4 - Departure
